The Relatives is a system of resources that helps youth find shelter and support. Our Youth Crisis Center, On Ramp Resource Center, and Housing programs are here to help young people ages 7-24.
The Relatives invites you to create a volunteer profile and view opportunities that do not require orientation. Once you’ve completed orientation, you’ll be able to see additional volunteer opportunities.
For young people in crisis, The Relatives steps in where no one else can. The Relatives is the source of hope in place of despair, acceptance in place of rejection and empowerment in place of helplessness.
From a church basement to a home on East Blvd; from a single room in the Children and Family Services Center to a 16,000 square foot resource center on Freedom Drive; The Relatives has created a space for young people facing crisis in our community since 1974.
Join us for a Meet The Relatives tour! See our programs first-hand and hear truly inspiring stories from Relatives staff members working directly with our youth and young adults. You will get a free introduction to The Relatives and the many ways we provide relief, acceptance, and empowerment to young people in crisis. Guests are not asked to make a financial contribution or commitment. The goal is to share our work with you, explain some of the challenges facing our community, and show you how The Relatives is working to make a difference.
Our vision: We aim to be a Relative to the vulnerable youth and young adults in our community, by enabling them to achieve independence through comprehensive services tailored to their individualized needs, in a space where they feel loved, supported and accepted as their authentic selves.
