Reflecting On Our Growth; Preparing For Our Future

As we close out the year, I’ve been reflecting on the incredible growth The Relatives has experienced, as well as the promises we still must fulfill.

Because of your support, 2025 was a year of transformation, both for The Relatives and for the over 2,500 lives of the youth and young adults that we serve.

  • Provided safety and refuge to over 125 children at our Youth Crisis Center
  • Housed over 115 young adults plus 64 of their children
  • Supported over 4,500 job applications filled out by young adults
  • Enrolled over 160 young adults in case management
  • Celebrated 10 GED graduations and enrolled 42 in our GED program
  • Delivered over 3,250 hours of mental health and wellness counseling

Each number represents a life changed. A door opened. A promise kept.

You helped Ashlei move from sleeping in her car to celebrating Christmas in her very first apartment.

You walked alongside Jakoby, Darion, and Amber to find hope and independence.

And you helped hundreds more take their first steps toward independence.

But our work is far from over.

In 2026, we’re setting bold goals to reach even more youth in need. With your help, we will:

  • Hire additional case managers to eliminate the wait for over 90 youth on our wait list
  • Expand our outreach to connect with the 30,000+ disconnected youth in Charlotte
  • Strengthen our mental health services to support long-term healing
  • Partner with more landlords and apartment communities to increase access to affordable housing

Thank you for being part of our family. Your generosity fuels our mission and gives young people the chance to build a future filled with hope.

Let’s keep fulfilling our promise—together.

Sincerely,

Trish Hobson
