Thank you for serving as a Table Captain at this year’s Breakfast with The Relatives. Your efforts will make a positive impact on our work for years to come. This Toolkit is designed to give you the resources and language necessary to host a successful table. However you choose to invite your guests and whatever resources you choose to utilize, the most important thing you can do is convey what excites you most about The Relatives and the work we do.
Breakfast with The Relatives features Tables of 8. To ensure a full table, it’s best to invite 10 to 12 people.

Please join me on Tuesday, October 20th to learn about The Relatives, a local organization I care deeply about. They help vulnerable youth and young adults, those who are unhoused, aging out of systems, or have nowhere else to turn, find safety and achieve independence.
The annual Breakfast with The Relatives is free to attend, and you’ll hear powerful stories from young people whose lives have been transformed. You’ll also see plenty of familiar faces. There will also be an opportunity to consider a personal gift during the program.

You’re making a difference at The Relatives because someone invited you to the table. Now, you can do the same for someone else:
Who in your neighborhood are you especially close to? Is there a neighbor you’d like to know better?
Do you belong to a book or supper club?
Are you part of a bible study or church fellowship group?
Are you part of a run club, Pilates, yoga, or workout class?
Who in your office would be interested in The Relatives work?
Who do you know that is new to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community?
If you have children or a dog, then who among their friends’ parents might be interested in The Relatives work?
The Family Meal is a great way to introduce your guests to our work and get them engaged prior to the Breakfast. Guests who have attended a cultivation event prior to Breakfast with The Relatives give almost three times as much as guests who are being introduced to our work for the first time.

Please join me for lunch with the young adults at The Relatives On Ramp Resource Center on Wednesday September 16 at 11:30 a.m. The Family Meal is a great way to learn more about The Relatives work and meet the people they serve. Lunch will be provided by Chef Sam Hart of Counter-

- 1,800 safe nights provided at the Youth Crisis Center for 182 kids
- Over the past year, The Relatives has helped over 187 young adults find jobs
- In 2025, The Relatives Housing Program served 118 young adults. An additional 64 children were provided with a safe place to live because of their parents receiving services
- 90% of young adults exit our Housing Program to a safe, stable home
- In 2025, The Relatives On Ramp Resource Center served 1,050 young adults
