National Safe Place Week

The Relatives is the Safe Place agency for Mecklenburg County. We partner with National Safe Place to create a local network of businesses, churches, schools, transportation services, and community locations that are willing to post Safe Place signs and identify as a place for youth in crisis to get help. National Safe Place Week helps to raise awareness nationwide for the Safe Place program.

The Relatives celebrates National Safe Place Week with Robert’s Walk. This walk highlights a young man named Robert who made the journey from feeling abandoned and lost in Freedom Park to feeling overwhelmed with love and support at The Relatives Youth Crisis Center, all because he saw the yellow Safe Place sign.

We’re honoring Robert’s journey virtually by asking YOU to #WalkAMileForRobert during Safe Place Week, March 19-25, post a picture of your walk (or run) and use the #WalkAMileForRobert hashtag.

Each participant will receive a free t-shirt while supplies last!
